Hi Creative Friends,
I am popping in to share some cute little Christmas trees. These were created using the fun and fresh new stamp and die set by Concord & 9th called Fa La La Fringe Trees. There are so many ways you can use this set. Here are two.
Each of these two cards starts by making these adorable fringe trees. So, the first order of business was to cut out different colors of tree bases. I have been in a more modern and pastel mood lately so I chose pinks, greens, and aqua blues.
For the first card, I used a Robin’s Egg blue, and two pink trees – one light pink, the other a little darker. Starting with the pink trees, I stamped the ornament ball stamp on top with Versamark ink and sprinkled White Puff embossing powder and heat embossed so the ‘ornaments’ had a little dimension. The third tree was cut out of Robin’s Egg blue. Then, using the fringe tree pieces, I cut a set from 80lb. Neenah white card stock stamped the corresponding fringe stamps on top with Versamark ink, and heat embossed with WOW! Metallic Gold Sparkle embossing powder. These fringe pieces were then glued onto the Robin’s Egg blue tree with different colored ornaments and a glitter gold star cut from glitter paper using the dies included.
With the trees done, they were assembled onto a white card stock panel, the sentiment was stamped with Gina K Designs Passionate Pink ink, then mounted onto a slightly larger glitter gold card panel.
To complete this card, a larger Robin’s Egg panel was mounted onto a white card stock card base, then the glitter-backed tree panel on top!
The second card was made very similarly. This one has a horizontal white card stock panel where I stamped little stars and circles and crosses using one of my very favorite of inks, Delicata Golden Glitz. For the trees, I used one aqua blue where I blended on Ocean Mist ink and a pink one and blended on Passionate Pink ink. For the third tree, I used a green card stock tree and blended on Applemint ink and also made the gold metallic embossing fringe pieces to assemble on top.
The trees were arranged and pressed into place with a bit of foam tape and the ‘happy holidays’ sentiment was stamped with Passionate Pink ink, then mounted onto a Fuchsia pink card base.
