Entranced with Gorgeous Blossoms

Entranced with Gorgeous Blossoms

Hi Crafty Friends,

I am popping in with a lovely but simple card design that was first brilliantly executed by Mimi A La Carte. Mimi is amazing! She creates awesome flower and nature designs. This design uses the gorgeous Entranced stamp by Penny Black.

This card was very easy to do and there are only a few steps but you do need some kind of stamp positioner to keep the stamp in place while you stamp it multiple times. Take your time and enjoy the process!

I began with a large (5″ x  7″ish) hot-pressed watercolor paper panel that was mounted in my stamp positioner. Starting at the top, I placed the stamp near the top of the watercolor panel. Then began applying Speckled Egg distress ink for the blue flowers and colored the stems with a brown Tombow marker directly on the stamp. I then spritzed it generously with water so it had a thin layer of water (but not flooding it) and stamped it. I continued to ink and stamp the flowers until I was satisfied with the color saturation. When finished and before you move to the next ‘row’, be sure to dap off any extra water or ink from the stamp.

For the next ‘row’ of stems and flowers, I rearranged the stamp, slanting it down a little more, and repeated the inking of the flowers and coloring of the stems the same as before. Once this ‘row’ was done, I moved on to the third and final ‘row’ of flowers and stems.

The final ‘row’ was done in exactly the same way – arranging the stamp, then inking and colored the stems. Once these flowers and stems were done, using Cocoa Bean ink, I stamped a sentiment from the Smiles stamp set by Penny Black.

To complete the card, the flower panel was mounted on a Luxe White card base.

If the pink and yellow-flowered card is your favorite, then follow the same steps. The only difference is that I color blended the flowers by using a combination of ink colors. I first stamped the flowers with Pale Peony, then added Hibiscus Burst, Raspberry Fizz, and Bright Buttercup in little areas, smoothed out the ink on the stamp with my finger, spritzed it with water, and stamped. I continued to ink the flowers and stamp until I achieved the desired color saturation. The stems were colored with a green Tombow marker.

The sentiment was stamped with Pine Feather ink.
