Flowers For Mom

Flowers For Mom

Hi Creative Friends,

I am popping in to share a delightful new card design using one of the brand-new die set from Penny Black. It is called Layered Bloom and it is simply lovely!

I began by creating an A2 white cardstock card base and added an Eucalyptus green cardstock panel to the front, then set it aside while I created the other pieces.

The flowers and leaves were next. Using white cardstock, I cut out two sets of flowers and a few leaf sprigs from the oldie-but-goodie Creative Leaves die set by Penny Black.

The flowers were colored by ink blending first Creamsicle, then Watermelon ink (see supply list). The leaves were also colored using a blending brush and Eucalyptus ink.

The flowers were assembled and set aside while I cut a white cardstock panel using the All-In-One Oval die. This die cuts out a complete panel with a wonderful decorative edge.

Next, I ink-blended a small white cardstock panel using the Watermelon ink, then splattered tiny droplets of gold ink (the flowers got a little splash of gold droplets too).

When dry, the panel was mounted on the card front, positioned so it would show through the oval when the decorative scalloped panel was mounted. I used some foam squares to pop it up!

The flowers and leaves were arranged and mounted with foam squares, along with a couple of cute little butterflies from the Soaring die set by Penny Black.

For the sentiment, I used the Let’s Celebrate BetterPress sentiment set and my BetterPress system. I used the watermelon ink.

The sentiment was mounted and the card was done – YAY!

Thanks for joining me today… I hope to see you next time!
