A Garden of Sweet Pea Flowers

Today we have a video to share – YAY! It is featuring one of Altenew’s newest stamps and dies, Sweetest Peas and Pinstripe. The Sweet Pea flowers are the main star of this stamp set and I am in love with it! The set is packed with lots of flowers so you can have so much fun creating your nostalgic garden of Sweet Peas.

I really enjoyed making this card. I grew up with country gardens all around and the Sweet Pea flower was always a favorite. Here is the video for you to check out how it was done.

I haven’t seen Sweet Pea flowers for so long, it was a pleasure to visit them again. I chose to color the flowers with Copic markers. You can view all the colors used in the supply list below. Here is a close-up to give you a better look.

The Altenew Pinstripe background stamp was the perfect backdrop for the flowers and the styled dots that are included in the set are a nice way to accent your card.

I made the base of the card with Black Licorice heavy cardstock. I folded the card base with the back being 3/4″ longer than the front. This created a 3/4″ extension, long enough to stamp a sentiment. Doing it this way you can view the sentiment from the inside or outside of the card.

For a little more drama, I white heat embossed a flower on the inside. It will be fun to write my personal note with a white gel pen or white ink. It gives a little extra twist.

The card was finished up by adding Wink of Stella shimmer and a few Nuvo Plum Pudding crystal drops and sequin.
