Hi Creative Friends,
I am super excited to share a card design using the new and awesome Playful Pumpkin by Concord & 9th. This stamp and die set is filled with so many Autumn goodies!
I love how all the pieces are included in one set to make an amazing Fall card design. For me, another added bonus is that I don’t have to cut and deburr the die pieces in the set. They are already ready to cut right out of the package!
The first thing I did to make this card was to create an A2 white card stock card base and bring out the Concord & 9th cardstock pack. I love how all the colors I will need are packed in one place.
Using an A2-sized neutral-colored card panel and the new Stitched Leaves card front die, I ran it through my die-cutting machine. When done, the panel had a subtle but distinctive leafy pattern. I mounted it onto the card base front.
Next, I cut a smaller white panel and backed it with a piece of thin foam, then mounted it on the front of the card base.
With the foundations done, it was on to the fun stuff! Using the Concord & 9th paper pack again, I cut out three pumpkins and a bunch of leaves from different colors of paper. I started with a colored cardstock for each of the pieces, then colored each piece further using Concord & 9th’s fabulous collection of ink cubes and a few mini brushes. If you don’t have any mini brushes, they are as handy as can be! I put a few options in the supply list below if you want to check them out.
With all the pieces done, I worked on the sentiment. I cut out the Autumn word from white card stock, mounted the negative and positive pieces in my stamp positioner, centered the stamp over the cutout, then inked it up. If you look at the close-up pics, you can see I used a few colors of ink so that it created sort of an ombre or mottled stamped effect.
Once done, I cut out another Autumn word from orange cardstock, then stacked and glued it slightly offset from the stamped Autumn word.
With all the pieces ready to assemble, I arranged them all on the front of the card. When satisfied with the arrangement, using glue and foam squares, I secured them in place.
The only thing left to do was to add the word ‘hello’. I left this for last so I knew just where it should go. I used Versafine Black Onyx ink to stamp.
And there we have it, my first Autumn card of the season – hooray! ♥
