Hugs and Kisses

Hugs and Kisses

Hi Creative Friends,

Today we are sharing a sweet ‘heart’ card design. I say heart card because this would be great for a wedding, anniversary, or any other occasion that involves the heart! Pretty Pink Posh has released some super cute stamps and dies to help celebrate the heart.

For this card design, I used the Elegant Banner Heart die set. It has a beautiful hearts and flowers motif, a delicate open heart, and a few cutout sentiments. To begin, using a piece of cold-pressed watercolor paper, I spritzed it with water, then lightly sprinkled on a few dry crystal watercolors like Brusho. I used Alizarian Crimson, Red, and Yellow.

I pretty much let the Brusho do the work. I only very lightly spritzed the panel again with water to get the paint dissolving and moving.

That was all there was to painting the panel. I let it dry, then used the Elegant Banner Heart die to cut it out. I also cut out a matching banner from white card stock, and then using the Hugs and Kisses sentiment die included, I cut out the words. The banner was trimmed a little on the top and bottom so the beautiful background could show through.

Next, I made an A2 white cardstock card base and a matching panel. Using the panel, I embossed it with the Penny Black Varigated embossing folder.

With all the pieces made and ready to go, I added a sheet of acetate to the back of the Heart panel and then used mounting foam tape around all the edges.

A small pile of Valentine Mix clay confetti was poured onto the embossing panel, then the colorful Elegant Banner Heart panel was placed on top, trapping all the confetti inside.

The sentiment banner was mounted and that completed the card.  It was an easy make and I love the beautiful colors in the heart panel. I hope you did too!
