In the spotlight: Dahlias

In the spotlight: Dahlias

Hi Creative Friends,

We have two treats for you today. We have a new video, just in time to start your Mother’s Day or special birthday cards. Second, since we are spotlighting the big, beautiful dahlias in the Dahlias stamp set by Papertrey Ink, we are offering for a limited time a special discounted price to you! So, two reasons to check out our latest video below.

As promised, here is the step-by-step video to walk you through each of the two cards. Check it out by clicking below or go directly to our Youtube channel here.

Each card design features these amazing dahlias. You can create them in any color and arrange them how you would like them best. Here is a close-up of the first card.

This card features a chocolate brown background and a pink and white insert. A trio of dahlias were chosen from my stack of flowers, and greenery was added by cutting out some leaves from the Into The Blooms: Christmas Sprigs.

I used a variety of ink colors for the flowers, namely Concord & 9th Honeysuckle, Dragonfruit, Poppy, and a few distress inks like Festive Berries, Wild Honey, Abandoned Coral, Worn Lipstick, and Picked Raspberry.

The sentiment was from the Spellbinders Wonderful Script die set. By the way, I think these card designs would make a delightful Mother’s Day card. So, with that in mind, I have included a Mother’s Day sentiment set in the supply list.

The above card has more dahlias, plus a spikey flower in yellow from Into The Blooms II. I also used a smaller leaf cluster from the same Into The Blooms: Christmas Sprigs die set. The sentiment was from Spellbinders Yana’s Layered Script Sentiments die set.

As a recap, here are the two card designs, each featuring the dahlias.

I hope you enjoyed this video. Please let me know which card design you like best! Thanks for watching and your time!
