An Inspiring Wild Garden by Laurel Beard

HI Everyone,

Laurel of Simply Cardmaking by Laurel Beard is visiting today and she is sharing a wonderful card with a message of encouragement – and you know, it is always nice to get one of those from time to time! She is using the Wild Garden stamp set by Catherine Pooler.

I adore the Wild Garden stamp set! So much beautiful foliage. I am so pleased to be back with some of my favorite peeps, the Foiled Fox!!!! You can pick up this stamp set in their shop!

In this one set, you get 7 floral/foliage images and two solid butterflies. This card came together so quickly! Just ink up the images, some overlapping, some not! Add a few butterflies and paint flicks in black and white (more on that in a second) and this card was done! You can customize this design with ANY sentiment and make a card set for a gift, or multiple cards for all occasions. If you look closely, you will see a script lightly in the background. It’s from this stamp set and stamped in Versmark ink. It was intended to be a subtle bit of texture. To accentuate the soft scripted background, I blended on some Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.

To create paint flicks, you can use your ink pad. Simply press your ink pad onto an acrylic block, spritz a tiny bit of water, pick it up with your paint brush and flick away! I did that with black and white ink….. This stamp set was part of a Stamp of Approval release and am thrilled it is now available for individual purchase. I also added a bit of Wink of Stella around the border and the sentiment strip for some added shine.

Thank you so much to the folks at The Foiled Fox for having me….. I simply adore working with them. They are fabulous!!!
