Keep Smiling

Keep Smiling

Hi Creative Friends,

I have a simple, cheery card design for you today. It features the beautiful floral die set by Pinkfresh Studio called Outline Floral Frame die. It lends itself perfectly to almost any sentiment but I used the one included in the set.

Want a lovely and cheerful card in a hurry? This die set will make it happen, which is where I started. I cut out the Outline Floral Frame from white card stock. Then, went on to work on the watercolored panel.

With a watercolor panel, I smooched patches of ink from the Pinkfresh Fairy Dust and Indian Summer ink cube collection. I specifically used Raspberry Bliss, Apricot, Sparkling Rose, and Coral Reef. Once I had the patches of ink on the paper, I used my sprayer to mist on the water to blend the inks, then splattered white ink dots.

Here is what it looked like when I was done… still a little patchy but no bother, those patches will show bursts of color when the Outline Floral top goes on.

When the watercolor panel was dry, I cut it out using the Lawn Fawn Scalloped die set, then added a foam back so it popped up a bit. It was then mounted to an A2-sized white card stock card panel that had already been affixed to an A2-sized card base. The floral frame was added on top, along with the center of the floral frame cutout.

Next, I scribbled an ombre of color onto a piece of white cardstock. I used a few Copic markers, namely Y08, Rv11, RV04, and R22. I then cut out the Keep Smiling sentiment, and cut another one so I could stack and glue them together. I also cut out the Outline Background using white cardstock, then glued the ombre-colored Keep Smiling on top.

To finish, the sentiment was added on top of the card front, along with a few sparkly jewels to give it a little pizazz!

And there we have it, a simple but charming card ready to send!
