Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Here, at The Foiled Fox. we are wishing everyone a delightful and joyous holiday. It has been a pleasure to share with you our paper crafting adventures this year. We have much more planned so we hope to see you again soon. In the meantime, we are sharing our last holiday card for the season.

What better way to end this holiday card season than with a Simply Graphic classic poinsettia with a modern twist?

It starts with a white card base and a small kraft paper panel. In truth, to make this card have a substantial feel to it, I used a piece of chipboard for the kraft panel, but either will work.

Then, with a bit of Dr. Ph. Martin Bleedproof white ink on my glass work surface, I used a sponge applicator (found on Amazon – link in the supply list below) to liberally sponge white ink onto the edges, then splattered some more ink over the whole panel. When satisfied, I set it aside to dry and went on to the next step.

Using heavy white cardstock, I cut a bunch of poinsettias from the Christmas Star die set and pine sprigs from the Pine Branch die set. Both of these sets are by Simply Graphic and are in the supply list below.

To add a little sparkle, with my palette knife, I smeared gold Glitz gel by Gina Z Designs onto the sprigs.

To complete all the pieces, I stamped the sentiment onto white cardstock, using Versamark ink and gold heat embossed it. When finished, I cut out the sentiment using a small circle die.

With everything ready to assemble, I mounted the chipboard to the card base, then arranged and glued the flowers and sprigs in place. Little pearls from Pretty Pink Posh were applied to the center of the flowers and the sentiment was tucked in to complete the card.

This was an easy and fast card to make but gives an elegant, modern feel to a classic design. I loved the sponged and splattered background. I hope you liked it too!

Have a wonderful holiday and best wishes!!
