Scary Halloween Night

Scary Halloween Night

Hi Creative Friends,

It is nearly Halloween month. To help usher it in, I am sharing a scary, but fun Halloween night scene. It features a few Papertrey Ink stamps and dies set. The main set is Happy Owl-O-Ween. It has a cool single branch that I will make into a scary tree and of course, a few owls and other goodies.

Keep this branch in mind, you are likely to see it again in an upcoming winter scene. I think it will make a fabulous bare tree!

I have demonstrated all the steps in the video below. All you have to do is click the image to view.

I love the glowing sky with a big crescent moon. I hope you took a moment to view the video. If not, here are the colors I used for the background.

Moon: Fossilized Amber and Crushed Olive distress inks

Sky: Fossilized Amber Crushed Olive, Villainous Potion, Chipped Sapphire, and Black Soot

The tree was made using Versafine Black Onyx ink and a black Tombow pen. All the supplies are listed below.

For the owl, I used a few Papertrey Ink ink cubes, namely Weathervane, Cocoa Bean, Smoky Shadow, Chartreuse, Amethyst Allure, and Plum Pudding, and the pumpkin was made using Bright Buttercup, Orange Zest, and Terracotta.

The fence from the Halloween Borders stamp set by Pretty Pink Posh was stamped with Versamark ink and heat embossed with Indigo embossing powder, then colored in with a few Copic alcohol markers.

Finally, the sentiments (and the pumpkin and bats for that matter) were from the Bright Night stamp set (see supply list). It was stamped with Versamark ink and white heat embossed and the bats with Versafine Black Onyx ink.

White dots for the stars were added using a shaping tool with a small ball end (see supply list) and Dr. PH. Martin’s Bleedproof ink.

Once the card front was done, it was applied to a black card base to finish it off.

I hope you enjoyed the video… I hope you will join us again very soon!
