Sending Love To A Dear Friend

Hi Crafty Friends,

We are super excited to introduce a brand new stamp and die set called Dear Friend. It is one of the fabulous stamps and dies in the very latest release by Papertrey Ink, an Ink To Paper collection. It has a delicate branch with artful leaves and oodles of beautiful sentiments to choose from!

We have taken a moment to present this card design in a video (see below). We hope you will take a look. It is one way you can use this set. In the coming days, you will see other creations using the “Dear Friend” stamp and die set, plus a peek at all the new awesome products in this release.

As promised, here is the video for your viewing pleasure!

This card has a clean and simple design where a beautiful self-border was created by masking off a 1/2″ on all sides of the card panel. The branches and leaves were then stamped. Flowers were added by using the same leaf stamp but in lovely pink colors (Sweet Blush and Raspberry Fizz). The stamp was inked, spritzed with water, then stamped. This technique allows the ink to blend and give a watercolor-y look.

After all of the leaves and ‘flowers’ were stamped, Aqua Mist was lightly blended along the edges of the top, then adding Spring Moss and New Leaf along the bottom and sides. I was careful not to cover too much of the panel with color. I wanted a lot of white to show.

Once all the stamping and ‘edge-blending’ was done. The post-it tape was peeled off to reveal a lovely white border. The sentiment “Sending Love” was stamped with Pine Feather and with the aid of a stamping platform to ensure perfect placement. After the sentiment was stamped, this panel was added to a slightly larger Raspberry Fizz panel, then onto a Spring Moss card base.

A few sequins were added for a little sparkle… and the card was complete! I hope you enjoyed the video and will join us on our next adventure!
