Sew Many Thanks

Sew Many Thanks

Hi Creative Friends,

Concord & 9th has a brand new release out and it is so much fun! For those of you that love to sew or the needle and thread, or just want to have a bit of fun, this release is for you.

For this card design, we chose the Sew Lovely stamp and die set from the release. It has sew many adorable features to it. For me, I was a sucker for all the detailed accessories like the spool, pins, and needle. Another awesome feature is how quickly this card design and other fun ones are to make. You can have something extra special to send in a snap!

We started with a white card stock A2 card base. Then, using another, slightly smaller white stock panel embossed a quilt pattern using Concord & 9th Quilted Card Front die (see supply list below). When embossed, the panel was adhered to the front of the card base, using a foam panel on the back to pop it up.

Next came the real fun part. We cut out three large spools from chipboard. This gave us a sturdy base, plus the chipboard really embossed well so the detail was crisp and deep!

The die set comes with dies to cut out the thread parts but we thought it would be fun to use real thread. Cotton Bakers Twine was a good fit for this so we wound three different colors of thread, one on each spool. We left a thread tail on one of them so that we could cut out the needle from glitter paper, and another one from white card stock, stack and glue them together, then thread the tail through. When the needle and spools were finished, we added a bit of glue to the back of each spool and mounted them in a row onto the card front.

For the sentiment, we used one that was included in the stamp set. We stamped it onto a strip of black cardstock using Versamark ink, then white heat embossed it. We cut little fish-tail ends to the strip, added foam tape to the back, and pressed it on.  For our very last step, we stamped ‘handmade with love’ (stamp included) to give it a personal touch.

See, it was a super simple card to make and we love the results… we hope you do too! ♥
