Smiles All Around

Hi Creative Friends,

Need a sweet and cheery card in a hurry? Here are two cards that fit the bill. Each card features the Penny Black Refresh die, combined with the fun Slanted Shortcuts die set by Concord & 9th .

I had so much fun making these cards. It was refreshing to make a special handmade card quickly… and that’s what these cards are all about!

Each card started with a white card stock card base and white card stock panel. Then, using the clever Slanted Shortcuts die set, I cut out two different slanted pieces. The vertical one was cut from dark blue “Night” card stock, then embossed using the Penny Black Dashed Design. The other horizontal one from a piece of green patterned paper from the  Honey Bee Stamps Let’s Party paper pack. Each were then mounted on their respectively white card stock panel.

Next, using the Penny Black Refresh die set, I cut out the three flowers from white cardstock. Then, I cut out just the blossom part of the flower using another piece of patterned paper from the same Honey Bee Stamps Let’s Party paper pack.  Each flower top was strategically placed over the paper where I thought it looks the best, then cut. Then,  Candy Corn card stock stems were cut out. To complete the flowers, the flower tops were glued onto the white cardstock flowers cut earlier, along with the Candy Corn stems,

The flowers were arranged and glued the flowers in place and a sentiment from the Penny Black Thinking of You stamp set was stamped in navy ink to complete the card.

On to the next card. Starting with the horizontal slanted green panel made earlier, I added a thin strip of yellow card stock, then moved on to the flowers.

I used a Fuschia pink card stock for the flowers. Two sets of flowers were cut from from Fuschia pink card stock. A set of stems only were cut from Kiwi Crush cardstock. The flowers were then stacked and glued, along with the green stems. The flowers were then arranged and glued to the front of the card.

To finish, yellow enamel dots were added to the flowers and a cute sentiment from the Short and Sweet die set by Concord & 9th.

That completes my two card… now, wasn’t that easy!
