Stylish Florals

Hi Creative Friends,

Brightly colored flowers are the theme for today. Spellbinders has a new floral die set that features gorgeous big blossoms in their Stylish Ovel Hello You and it is perfect for displaying colorful flowers.

I have made a new video for you with all the steps to show you how to make your own colorful arrangements. Take a look below.

I truly had so much fun making these card designs and I am in love with the vivid flowers against a subtle but intricate background. Check out all the steps in the video below.

Now that you have had a chance to view the video. Here are a few close-ups.

In this pic, you can really see just how detailed the background is.

Isn’t the background amazing? The wonderful thing is that you can use it in a variety of ways. You can remove the center ovals are removable as well as punch out the intricate dotted design. I think you could make a very interesting card by only using this Infinity Punch & Pierce Plate die and a variety of colored cardstocks.

For my card design today, I stayed subtle by using one color and retaining all the pieces. The beautiful new Glacier cardstock by Spellbinders is a gorgeous color for the backdrop.

To achieve vibrant colors, I used distress ink reinkers. I am totally smitten by their intense color. I used Uncharted Mariner, Dusty Concord, Mustard Seed, and Peeled Paint in the example above.

For this next version, I used Lost Shadow for the leaves and Saltwater Taffy, Festive Berries, and Ripe Persimmon for the flowers. In both card combinations, I used Black Soot for the centers of the larger flowers. Then to really set off the flowers and add a little sparkle, I used colored glitter paper for the centers.

I used Gravel cardstock for the background in this card.

I love both of these cards but there is one that has a slight edge as my favorite. But please let me know yours! I would love to know.

Thanks for joining me today… I hope to see you next time!
