Every winter season I look for beautiful poinsettia stamps or dies. They are the quintessential flower for the season and Penny Black has another real beauty! Scarlet is their newest. I know I will be using this stamp again and again.

I had so much fun with today’s project. First of all, I finally used the MFT Harvest Mouse stamp and die set. I have been in love with this set since it was first released. These adorable little mice are in the cutest poses. The mouse with the bushel basket is so awesome, I decided on him for my subject.
Then, to color him, I chose Derwent Inktense colored pencils on a colored background. I was inspired by Jennifer Rustioni who is an amazing talent! She often uses colored pencil on a colored background and I just love the look!

I hope all of you are safe and healthy… albeit you might be feeling a little cabin fever! I am taking a very short break from the graduation series (see previous blog posts and videos) to bring a breath of fresh, Spring-like air with a beautiful bouquet of flowers.
These flowers are from the delightful stamp by Penny Black, called Springtime Sigh. The bouquet was wonderful to create a vivid display of flowers.

Pinkfresh is releasing lots of wonderful stamp sets and the Studio Floral Background is one of their first. To show off its floral splendor, I have created it two different ways. One is watercolored using Distress stains and on the other, I colored the flowers with watercolor pencils.
