Today I am having a little birthday fun with adorable critters. I chose a couple of my favorites. One from the Cheerful Critters by Penny Black and the other from My Favorite Things Friends stamp set. I don’t think you can ever have enough birthday cards at the ready and I like to have a variety of styles of birthday cards so that I can find just the right one to suit my birthday recipient.

Penny Black has some brand new stamps and dies that we were dying to give a try. To start, we used the giant “YOU” die for our centerpiece, then accompanied it with an adorable hedgehog from the Cheerful Critters stamp set and the Balloons die set for a super fun, but simple, card design that works great for male or female, young, or old!

We are sharing another fun Halloween card made using one of My Favorite Thing’s newest stamp and die sets called Best Witches. In the stamp set are so many super cute elements. Being animal lovers, we especially like the constant black cat companion to the little witch but the creatures of this set are adorable!

I had so much fun with today’s project. First of all, I finally used the MFT Harvest Mouse stamp and die set. I have been in love with this set since it was first released. These adorable little mice are in the cutest poses. The mouse with the bushel basket is so awesome, I decided on him for my subject.
Then, to color him, I chose Derwent Inktense colored pencils on a colored background. I was inspired by Jennifer Rustioni who is an amazing talent! She often uses colored pencil on a colored background and I just love the look!

Summer is in full bloom and since I live near the beach, no summer can go by without spending time in the sand. That means a sandcastle is in order! But, no matter where you live your can build your own using the fun dies set by My Favorite Things, Sandcastle Builder.
This die set is great fun as you can build your castle any way you like. In my case, I went for the palatial castle, complete with turrets and a flag on top. Below are all the steps to create your own.
