Hi Crafty Friends,
I mentioned in our last video that you would be seeing more of the lovely ‘Dear Friend’ stamp and die set by Papertrey Ink, an Ink To Paper collection, and here is proof. This card design used both the stamp and the die, as well as the ‘Feathered Friends‘ die set. You can check out how it came together in the attached video. I have also included a list of all the goodies used.
Here is the video that was co-sponsored by Papertrey Ink.
This card had many of my favorite elements. It has a charming bird (birds are a real favorite of my, both in real life and for cardmaking) and leaves for a treetop scene. You can make the bird in soooo many ways. For this example, I used Copic markers but you could blend on ink or use colored paper. Each method would be a winner!
But before we make the bird, let’s create the background. It was created by stamping the willow-y branch a few times, then added leaves of different colors. I used New Leaf, Spring Moss, Aqua Mist, and Ripe Avocado. Once the background was complete, a white card diagonal frame was added using the Papertrey Ink Diagonal Frames die.
Next, I cut out the bird, branch, and a few leaves using the coordinating dies and Neenah white card stock. As I mentioned before, the bird was colored with Copic markers (see supply list). For a more in-depth view, check out the video!
‘My dear friend’ (a sentiment from the stamp set) was stamped with Ripe Avocado before going on to complete the card.
Using an Aqua Mist cardstock card base, a panel of Simply Chartreuse was added on top. Next was the treetop background was adhered on top, along with the bird, branch, and leaves.
And there we have it… I am pleased with the result. I hope you like it too – See you next time! ♥
Goodies List:
Shauna, this is drop dead gorgeous in my eyes! Love it! You did the bird so beautifully. I struggle to colour birds. I just can’t seem to make them look decent. Thanks for the great video.
I am glad you liked it. Try coloring this bird, it is easier than you think!
