Towering Stems Bouquet

Towering Stems Bouquet

Hi Creative Friends,

I have a step-by-step video up on the Papertrey Ink Youtube channel featuring the new Towering Stems stamp and die set. This wonderful set has a myriad of beautiful flowers to choose from while making a charming bouquet of flowers. I hope you will join me in viewing the video below.

Here’s the video:

Because this video walks you through the whole process, I am going to let the video do all the talking! But I am sharing a few close-ups so you can get a better look.

I choose to make my bouquet a mixed bouquet, meaning I used all the different flowers (except the calla lily) in the set and inked them in different colors too. But I think you could make a stunning bouquet using different shades of one color like pink or yellow. It is truly up to your vision and inspiration.

Listed in the supply list below are all the colors used. For each flower, I used one color of ink for the background, then a darker one for the outline stamp. For example, for the larger flower I used Hibiscus Burst, then Pure Poppy for the outline.

For the ‘cellophane wrapping’ around the flowers, I used lightweight vellum (29lb.). The white heat embossing gives subtle detail.

The whole bouquet is arranged and set on an intricate background created by the new and beautiful Elegance cover plate. It was cut from Soft Stone card stock, then set on a panel of Sweet Blush polka dot Bitty Big paper (see supply list below)

The whole thing was set on a slightly larger white panel, then a larger yet Weathervane gray panel. A few gems were added for extra sparkle, along with a bow. For the sentiment, I borrowed the tag from the Jar Accessories stamp and die set, stamped it in Autumn Rose, and added a sentiment from the Just Sentiments: Bloom set.

And that completes this card design.  I hope you enjoyed it and will join me next time!
