Vintage Lantern with Holly

Vintage Lantern with Holly

Hi Crafty Friends,

We are sharing a video we made for Papertrey Ink-Ink To Paper that features the lovely Vintage Lantern stamp and die set. This set has beautiful stamps that make a very detailed vintage lantern and floral displays to decorate it. We wanted a special Christmas-y look so we used the holly in the Corner It: Holly stamp and die set.

Take a look at the step-by-step video to show you how it was all done!

We hope you enjoyed the video. Here are a few close-ups to give you even more detail.

Check out the detail on that lantern. Like we said earlier, the Vintage Lantern stamp set has a beautiful lantern that can be decorated in so many ways and can be used all year-round. For the lantern, we used Soft Stone card stock and stamped it with Weathervane. Then, cut out holly and berries from theĀ  Corner It: Holly stamp and die so for an extra Christmas-y look. By the way, the holly was colored with Pinefeather, the leaves with Ripe Avocado, and the berries first with Pale Peony, then colored with a few Copic markers. Check out the complete supply list below.

But let’s go back a bit and look at the background. We sandwiched two pieces of heavy white card stock together with glue to create an extra thick A2 panel. Then, using the new awesome Border Bling: Believe frame, we ran it through our die-cutting machine, using the rubber embossing mat, to create a very deep embossed border. The ‘warmest wishes’ sentiment found in the Vintage Lantern set was stamped with Pinefeather ink.

To give the center a little ‘pop’, we stamped a rectangular piece of white card stock that fit perfectly inside the dotted outline on the background. We used Nifty Plaid for the design and Pale Peony ink. Before we are ready for assembly, we cut a white ring, using 2″ and 1 3/4″ circle dies,

To put the whole thing together, each of the layers was stacked, then finally the lantern was added with a bit of foam tape, along with the holly and berries.

We hope you enjoyed the video. Please join us next time!
