Warmest Thoughts

Warmest Thoughts

Hi, my creative friends,

I am sharing another winter video with you. It features a few of my favorite characters… berries and birds. No one does this combination better than Penny Black so of course I am using a few of their stamps for this project. I used Settled, Delicate Pines, and a brand new sentiment set called Warmest Thoughts.

As always, I have listed the video below. You can just click to view.

Then, I have also added a few close-ups for you to get an up-close and personal look at the detail. Here you can see the sweet bird resting on his berry-filled branch. To me, this branch, berries, and bird create a soft, serene feel to the card design.

I used a myriad of distress inks for my painting. The colors are all listed below in the supply list. Don’t be alarmed by all the colors. Most of the colors are listed twice, in the mini and full size. That way you have choices. The same goes for the hot-pressed watercolor paper.

How I used the ink colors is all outlined in detail in the video so I will let you have time to view it.

When all the painting was done, I stamped the sentiment. It is from the Warmest Thoughts stamp set by Penny Black. I stamped it in Faded Jeans distress ink, then mounted the panel to a 5×7 cream card base.

That completes this sweet wintery card. I hope you enjoyed it and will give it a try!
