Winter Scenes With Brusho

Winter Scenes With Brusho

Hi Crafty Friends,

I am sharing a new video today showing you how to create a dramatic background using one of my favorites, Brusho dry crystal watercolors. You, of course, can use any watercolors for this project but I am in love with Brusho’s intense colors.

To accompany the Brusho paints, I am also using the Into the Sky cling stamp set by Penny Black.

Here is the video below.

I hope you had a chance to check out the video! It explains in detail how to create your own vivid backgrounds, especially when using dry crystal watercolors. Below are a few close-ups and also a few pics of other projects I have done using the same techniques and Brusho watercolors.

I used only three colors, Yellow, Orange, and Blue, then let the paint and water work their magic! The branches and sentiment (from the Penny Black Nature’s Friend stamp set) were stamped with VersaFine Black Onyx ink, then mounted onto a Luxe White card stock card base.

Also in the video are a few other backgrounds that I created with the same Brusho watercolors. The backgrounds were prepped with masking fluid just like before, then paint was added to create the background.

For the example below, I used a few Penny Black stamps, namely Woodland Beauty, Prancers, and Spread Cheer, along with Versafine Black Onyx ink and VersaFine Clair Morning Mist for the two smaller trees.

The final scene shared in the video was a Halloween setting. I will give an in-depth description of the steps in the next blog article so stay tuned. In the meantime, here is a close-up for you.  I love the colors in this one!

I hope you enjoyed the video and will give these backgrounds a try. They are loads of fun. Then by just adding a few simple stampings, you have completed your card design!
