Hi Creative Friends,
I just love little mice, not in my house mind you, that’s a different story! But on paper, they couldn’t be cuter and these tiny mice in the Micey Day stamp set by Penny Black are ready for some fun and celebration!.
This is a clean and simple card design. I started with an A2 panel of Spectrum Noir Ultra Smooth Premium white cardstock. This paper from Spectrum Noir is superb for alcohol marker coloring!
I stamped the cute little trio of mice onto my panel using alcohol marker-friendly ink. My favorite is Mememto Tuxedo Black. After stamping the mice, I wiped off my stamp thoroughly. It was then carefully moved to position the balloon as if it is floating away (it was the same balloon as the mouse is holding). I masked off the area around the balloon with Post-It notes, then very carefully inked only the balloon (without the string) with Tuxedo Black ink, wiping off any excess around the edges, then stamped the balloon. I repeated these steps one more time to stamp the second free-floating balloon.
With the scene stamped, I started coloring. I used Copic markers for my coloring. Here is a guide.
Mice: W0, C0, C2, W3, C4, R01
Flowers: Y08, Y35, YR18, YG03, YG17
Gift: YR61, R32, YG03, YG17
Balloons: BG000, BG32, BG15 – G21, YG03, YG17 – R01, RV10. R32
Once all the coloring was done, I stamped the “Wish Big.” sentiment using Versafine Black Onyx ink and added balloon strings to the two floating balloons using a Pigma Micron pen (see supply list below).
The panel was trimmed down and a foam backing was added. The panel was then mounted onto an A2 Antique Gray panel.
The whole front was then mounted to an A2 white cardstock card base to complete the card.
Now wasn’t that an easy card… and so cute too! ♥
Adorable card, Shauna!
Thank you so much!
