You Make A Difference

You Make A Difference

Hi Crafty Friends,

It is a pleasure to share this beautiful stamp set, You Make A Difference, by Hero Arts – Pinkfresh Studio for two reasons. First, because of you. You make a huge difference! We love sharing with you, our crafty friends. It is so lovely to be part of this caring community! Secondly, this stamp set contains a serenely beautiful floral stamp with many thoughtful sentiments, making it a real go-to for so many occasions.

This stamp set is one of my favorites. The sweet flowers all reaching toward the center, leaving room for a sentiment, really spoke to me.

To begin, I chose a darker background for this card. I used one of my favorite cardstock papers, Alpaca. This cardstock has a gray, mauve-y look to it (don’t let the image fool you-it really does have a faint mauve color to it).

So, using a stamp positioner, I placed an Alpaca card panel in the positioner and stamped the floral stamp with Versamark ink onto the card panel a couple of times to ensure a good impression. This is after I liberally applied anti-static powder, of course 😀. The image was then heat embossed with Rose Gold embossing powder.

Before moving on to painting, I added the sentiment. Since this is for a special friend in sorrow, I used a sentiment from the Sympathy Sentiments stamp set by Penny Black. I stamped it the same way I stamped the floral design, and heat embossed it too in rose gold embossing powder.

Now on to the painting! Since the background was darker, it required an opaque paint, like gouache. Gouache is a water-based paint so it is so easy to use and has great coverage. If you haven’t tried it, give it a whirl!

After the floral panel was painted and dry, I rubbed on Picked Raspberry on the edges with a finger dauber to intensify the design. Once done, I mounted it onto an Aubergine panel, then onto a white card base.

The final touch was to add a twine bow around the top of the card.♥
