You’re A Treat!

You’re A Treat!

Hi Creative Friends,

I have a sweet treat for you today. I am sharing a new card design that features the brand new Sweet On You stamp and die set by Concord & 9th. Guys, there are so many ways you can use this set, and the same goes for the  Pop Heart Turnabout stamp too!

I began this project using the Pop Heart Turnabout stamp.. You may have seen the Pop Heart Love blog post earlier this week where I used this turnabout stamp. This turnabout stamp is a super fun one – I love all the ways you can change it up, not to mention the different color combinations you can use.

I used Concord & 9th ink cubes Honeysuckle, Grapefruit, Lemongress, and Sea Glass for mine and a 5 7/8″ square piece of white cardstock. As you know, a stamp positioner is a must when using a turnabout! If you haven’t tried making a turnabout background yet or want a refresher on how to,  go to the Pop Heart Love blog post.

When done, I set it aside for now and worked on the candy jar and candy gumdrops. You can create and fill your candy jar with all kinds of candies when you use the Sweet On You stamp and die set but I stuck to gum drops… one of my favorites.

I cut out a bunch of four different colors of gum drops from the coordinating Concord & 9th Assorted cardstock stack, added glue, sprinkled with chunky glitter, and let them dry

Meanwhile, I cut out two outlines of the candy jar using gold foil paper, then stacked and glued them together. I also cut out a white cardstock background, and two bows that were stacked and glued together.’z

There are a few really cute sentiments. I picked the simple ‘You’re A Treat’ and stamped it on a strip of white cardstock using the crisp Versafine Black Onyx ink. I also cut a matching strip from matching colored cardstock, and trimmed the ends of both strips.

To put everything together, I trimmed the Pop Heart background to an A2 size (4.25×5.5″), then added a slightly larger pink cardstock to the back of it. The whole assembly was adhered to a white cardstock card base.

The candy jar was mounted next, then I piled the gum drops in the jar, and glued them in place. A few additional gumdrops were mounted on the outside using foam squares.

To finish everything up, I adhered the sentiment strips and the bow on top!

And, that completes my sweet treat for today. I hope you enjoyed it!
