Christmas At Our House
Hi Creative Friends,
I was so smitten by the adorable City Holiday set by Spellbinders that I had to give it a whirl. This set has all the makings to create your holiday house decorated for Christmas. But don’t think it is only for Christmas. You can decorate the house for any number of occasions (ie, housewarming, Valentine’s Day, Easter, Spring, etc.). All it takes is a little time to play!

I started by preparing the card base and front panel. I used Night blue cardstock and cut it into a 5″x7″ base and matching panel. I wanted a snowy background, so I used Lawn Fawn’s Snowy Sky stencil and Snowfall Grit paste by Tim Holtz. Then set it aside to dry.
Now onto the house. Everything is included in the City Holiday die set to make your home your own. I used a Blush pink for the body of the house, then stenciled a brick pattern on it using Honeysuckle ink and a Brick stencil by Lawn Fawn. (check out the supply list below)
With the body of the house complete, I grabbed my folder of Spellbinders scraps and went to work cutting out all the pieces, then mixing and matching them together to create the scene.

Originally, the first floor would have a large picture window and an entrance door. I changed the house up a bit and made a window on each side of the door, and added a Christmas tree in one and gifts in the other. The door was adorned with a wreath. All the pieces are there in the set for you to create this entire scene.
When the house was done, I added a foam backing to pop it up, then added the snowbank, complete with sparkling snow (compliments of glittery Stickles).
I had to add the cat and dog since my own home is bursting with them.

The sentiment was last. I chose a sentiment from the Spellbinders Christmas Cheer sentiments. There are some wonderful ones in that set, and you can make all of them in one fell swoop! That is awesome!
My snowy Christmas scene is done. I had oodles of fun making it. I hope you enjoyed it too! See you next time! ♥
