Merry Wishes
Hi Creative Cardmakiers,
I am beginning to build up my holiday card stash. What better way than to use a new holiday stamp and die set by Penny Black called Merry Boughs. This set has a few wonderful pine boughs or trees. Any of the three pine motifs is sure to delight!

I started with the lovely pine bough with a pinecone. I am a sucker for a beautiful pinecone!
Using a piece of cold-pressed watercolor paper, I lightly stamped the bough with Rusty Hinge Distress Ink. Once I had a light impression of the stamp, I ink-blended on some Bundled Sage to give a background to the bough. From there, I continued to stamp the twig part of the bough and pine cone with Rusty Hinge and Ground Espresso,
Using a small, damp brush, I gently blended some of the Ground Espresso and dashes of Rusty Hinge ink to color the pinecone.
Next, I stamped the pine needles using Peeled Paint and some Rustic Wilderness distress ink. I continued to fiddle with the color until II was happy with the result.

The pine bough was cut out using the matching die, and a little Dr. Ph. Martin Bleedproof White ink was added to give a snowy appearance, along with a light sprinkling of glitter.
For the background, I embossed an A2-sized panel of Spellbinders Alabaster cardstock using Spellbinders Branches embossing folder. Added the embossed panel to a matching card base, then cut out a white cardstock decorative panel using the Pinkfresh Studio Ornate Rectangle Frame set.
Antique Linen distress ink was blended onto the edges of the decorative panel, foam was added to the back, and then adhered to the front of the card base.

The sentiment and a few snowflakes were stamped onto the center panel, using VersaClair Shady Lane and Versamark ink, respectively. The snowflakes were embossed with Hero Arts Sparkle embossing powder.
To finish, the bough was added and a few gems for a spark of color.
That completes my holiday card for today. I hope you enjoyed it and will visit us again in our next papercrafting adventure. ♥
