Delightful Daisies

Hi Creative Friends,

Today I am sharing a new card design featuring colorful and cheerful flowers from the Daisy Delight stamp and die set by Concord & 9th. I combined it with the new Shadow Box die set, also by Concord & 9th. With the help of the shadow box’s collapsible accordion sides, this card slips nicely into an A2 envelope, then pops up as soon as it is out of the envelope, making this card extra special!

The first step was, of course, the flowers. I cut them all out of Bristol paper for easy blending, then colored them using a few colors for the flowers (Clementine, Sorbet for some and Berry Kiss for others). I cut a few extras so I could stack a few to give extra interest and dimension. The centers were colored with Buttercup, Nutmeg, and a dash of Black.

The background was an Alabaster off-white A2 panel splattered with white ink, and the frame was the lovely color of fig. The Shadow Box die set has everything you need for collapsible sides. All you need to do is cut two strips using the die in the set with score lines, fold along the scores in an accordion fashion, then glue on the frame and then the Alabaster back panel. The flowers and leaves were arranged and glue and/or attached with foam squares.

Next, I cut a banner with the die in the set and stamped it with one of the sentiments in the stamp set using Morning Mist gray ink. The word ‘\sunshine ‘ was accented by coloring in the words with an alcohol marker.

Once the banner was mounted, the card was done, and oh, how excited I was with the results! There is nothing like fresh, sweet daisies to spread a ray of sunshine and hope! ♥
