Hi Everyone,
We are over-the-moon with this beautiful butterfly card by the multi-talented Laurel Beard of Paper Crafts by Laurel. She is sooo much fun and has the coolest projects!
Today, Laurel is sharing a shaker card using the new Concord & 9th Butterfly Beauty stamp set, with coordinating Butterfly Card dies. We just love how the sequins add to the design of the butterfly… how stunningly effective!
So, without further adieu, here is Laurel’s card magic…
Laurel Beard here again!! Today, I have a clean and simple butterfly shaker card to share with you all. The GORGEOUS Butterfly Card die from Concord & 9th is a show stopper and really all you need to make a gorgeous shaker card! I simply lined up the butterfly dies onto my card panel (each wing is its own die) and then ran it thru my die cutting machine. The sentiment is from the Beautiful Butterfly stamp set.
I cut a piece of the packaging the stamp set came in and glued it on the backside of the panel so I could secure my bits. See? RECYCLE that garbage, lol!!!! In order to create a shaker, you have to raise up the panel just a bit so the sequins or whatever bits you put inside can move around. The Scotch double sided tape is perfect for this. I adhered it on the backside right along the edges of the butterfly and then poured in a lot of bits I had in my stash. The sequins from Neat & Tangled would be perfect for filling this shaker.
I adhered the shaker panel to a panel I watercolored with Evergreen Bough distress ink because I really felt the butterfly needed some depth and color 🙂 I was planning on sending this card to my mom, but my daughter got hold of it and loved how it all shook around so sorry Mom!

Lovely card as always Laurel. You can always make another for your mum then both mother and daughter are happy lol. Is that a border x die around the edges?
