Fine Red Petals
Hi Creative Friends,
I wanted to share one of the new stamp and die sets by Penny Black that our in our shop. I chose Finest Petals for this handmade card.

Letting the flowers be the main focal point, I went for a clean and simple design.
Starting with the flowers. Using a stamp positioner and a piece of hot-pressed watercolor paper, I stamped the flowers in Candied Apple distress ink and the leaves and stems in Forest Moss disress ink. From there, without removing the watercolor paper from the stamp positioner, I painted the flowers using Candied Apple and Lumberjack Plaid. To make the flower details stand out, I stamped the flowers with Candied Apple again. Then, using my black Tombow pen, I colored the centers of the flower stamp and stamped again. This brought out all the lovely details of the centers.

The stems and leaf were next. I first stamped them with Forest Moss distress ink. Then colored them with Crushed Olive distress ink, then followed up with Forest Moss and a little Rustic Wilderness. When done and the ink was dry, I cut them out using the coordinating die.
To make the body of the card, I first made a black Raven cardstock card base and the black panel. Next, i cut a white cardstock panel using the Papertrey Ink Cross Stitched cover plate. The black panel was adhered to the front of the card base, then the Cross-Stitched panel on top.
From there, I cut a few frames from the new Delicate Octagon die set by Penny Black and maintained the center which was colored with Candied Apple. The frames were stacked and glued, then added to the front of the card.

Next, I added the flowers and the sentiment. The sentiment is from the Kristina Werner’s A2 Thin Frames set and cut, stacked, and glued from Raven cardstock.
And there we have it… my completed project for today.
Thanks for joining me… stay tuned for another papercrafting adventure! ♥
