As Special As You Are

Hi Creative Friends,

I am sharing a sweet card design featuring delightful daisies and a spray of tiny blue flowers. The Into The Blooms: Daisies die set by Papertrey Ink was perfect for this. Then, combine with the Wildflower Wreath set, another great set from Papertrey Ink, and you have a complete picture.

Lovely flowers always brighten my day and set the mood for creativity, so let’s start there!

The daisies were cut from white cardstock, and the centers were colored with Spiced Cider and Ground Espresso ink (check out the supply list below for more details). The small flowers were from the Wildflower Wreath set. They were cut from white watercolor paper, then stamped with Nocturne ink. From there, the flowers and leaves were painted with Tumbled Glass, Uncharted Mariner, Crushed Olive, Bundled Sage, and Rustic Wilderness distress reinkers. The porcelain flower dish is great to hold the dots of ink from the reinkers.

To add a little greenery, a few leaves from the Into the Woods: Wild Wood set were cut and ink blended.

For the background and foundational part of the card, I stamped a wood grain pattern onto a Celestial blue panel. I couldn’t find my usual stamp for this, so I used the Spellbinders Woodgrain hot foil plate, inked it with Versafine Clair Morning Mist ink, and stamped.

I picked out the proper-sized arch from the Spellbinders Essential Arch set, blended on a little Bundled Sage and Broken China, and then stamped a sentiment from the Wildflower Wreath collection.

To put it all together, a thin white frame was mounted around the blue woodgrain panel, and then the arch was added. The flowers were arranged and added with foam squares and/or glue.

The card design was basically done, but I couldn’t resist adding tiny bees from the Concord & 9th Sweet Bee set.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card design and will give it a whirl!
