Beautiful Flowers Framed
Hi everyone!
JB here (IG @inkblissbyjb). Today I’m sharing 2 A2-size cards featuring “Framed in Flowers” stamps, dies, and stencils all from Papertrey Inc. These are fabulous and so easy to use! There are 5 different sentiments to use as well.

Let’s get started! Card #1
I love sunflowers with Kraft cardstock; it just fits perfectly with that cozy feel. I first stamped my image on Kraft cardstock with Potting Soil Archival Ink and set it aside. I then, with my Kraft cardstock, stenciled with “Leafy Garden Stencil Collection” (also part of the new release) in Peeled Paint Distress Ink. First with a light hand, then darken with a slightly heavier hand to give that shading I love so much! The 3rd stencil offsets threw me off a little at first, but I absolutely love that imperfection image!

To color the gorgeous sunflower, my first thought was to use Copics, but then I decided to use the “Framed in Flowers” stencil collection, which made it so easy to color. I used all Distress Inks on this card; for the petals, I used Mustard Seed, Fossilized Amber, Brushed Corduroy, and Wild Honey to create that wonderful shading. For the center, I used Brushed Corduroy, Wild Honey, and Walnut Stain. The leaves were stenciled with Peeled Paint; same process for shading with light hand, then heavier. I used the coordinating die and splattered with Brutus Monroe Aqua Pigment Gilded; perfect pearls would work just fine; I just can’t find mine!

To wrap up my card, I cut 2 Matthew 6 panels (new release) in Kraft and lightly ink-blended with Peeled Paint and offset on top of the stencil panel. Wrapped some twine from my stash to give that Fall feel. Used foam strips and mounted on layers. Stamped thinking of you from Framed in Flowers stamps in Potting Soil Archival Ink and the card is complete.
Card #2
Using Vicky Boutin Cardstock, I stamped the flower image with Potting Soil Archival Ink and set it aside. Working on the background panel, I ink-blended Abandoned Coral Distress Oxide, then splattered with water using a Ranger spray bottle. Dried with a low-heat tool so I could stamp “Amazing Grace Background” with the same ink (previous release). I stenciled a white panel with Leafy Garden Stencil with Peeled Paint Ink lightly and added Abandoned Coral on the tips, then a little heavier with Peeled Paint for shading. I split the panel and added a Peeled Paint strip.

I initially was going to watercolor, which is why I used that cardstock and Archival ink but then decided to use a coordinating stencil. Using the same Abandoned Coral Oxide and darkened the center. I used Peeled Paint Distress Ink with the same process. I added a die-cut panel using “Sweet Scallops Die” (New Release), and ink-blended lightly to match. I then used the 3rd stencil of “Leafy Garden Stencil Collection) to add a pattern. I offset the panels and added a sympathy sentiment in Peeled Paint Ink to build my stash for when needed.
