Lawn Fawn’s Lighthouse Leads The Way by Rosali

Hi there,

Rosali of I Love Stamping (instagram: ilovestamping) is back with us today (YAY!) and she is sharing a cutie card design. It features a few of Lawn Fawn’s newest. Take a look at how she simply creates a beam of light to help the boats find their way and have smooth sailing.

I am back with another @lawnfawn card on the @foiledfox blog! As you probably all know by now I love the ocean so this stamp set was a must have for me!

I started out by cutting a panel of Blueberry Sour card stock using the Stitched Cloud Background die by Lawn Fawn. Then cut a couple of “waves” from Neenah white cardstock using the Stitched Hillside borders and then the hilltop and land by hand.

The ‘waves’ were colored by blending Peacock Feathers and Chipped Sapphire distress ink and the hilltop and ‘land’ were colored with Shabby Shutters and Forest Moss distress ink. They were then set aside while I stamped the boat, lighthouse, and stars onto cardstock and colored them with Winsor & Newton watercolor markers. These elements were cut out using the coordinating dies.

With the pieces ready to be assembled, I adhered the waves to the cloud panel, then the hilltop and “land” on top. I then positioned the lighthouse to get an idea where I wanted the ‘beam of light’ and used a couple of strips of Post-it tape to mask off the area for the beam and colored it with Peacock Feathers distress oxide ink – distress oxide is great for opaque coverage over a colored background.

After the masking tape was peeled off, the panel was mounted onto a card base and the lighthouse and boat were added.  The final steps were to stamp the sentiment onto a strip of yellow paper, cut it out using the banner, then add the stars and banner to the panel.
