A White Merry Christmas

A White Merry Christmas

Hi Creative Friends,

Today I am sharing a card design that is sheer simplicity, I have fallen in love with the simple, uncluttered designs I have seen on Instagram. Here is my version, using Winter Foliage, another beautifully intricate die set by Alexandra Renke.

This die set has four elegant foliage pieces, a pine branch, holly sprig, leaf, and leaf with berries. With this design, I am letting the foliage speak for itself in this simple card design.

To begin, I cut an oversized panel from Neenah 110lb. card stock. It is roughly 4.5″x6.5″. I also cut all the foliage pieces out of the same paper, but for the pine branch, I used gold foil card stock (see supply list below).

I fiddled with the arrangement until I found the look I wanted, including the sentiment that I found in the new White Christmas stamp set, again by Alexandra Renke. Taking a mental note of the placement, I put the panel in a stamp positioner and stamped the sentiment with VersaMark ink, then heat embossed it with gold embossing powder. I just love how crisp and clean the sentiment was!

Next, I mounted the panel on a slightly larger card base, then rearranged the foliage pieces and glued them only at the spot they all intersect so they could show off their own drapey elegance.

Finally, I added a gold metallic bow with a spot of glue at the very same intersection of the foliage pieces.

And, there you have it… all done! Just think how fast and easy it would be to make a group of these for your Christmas cards!
