Sweet Friend

Hi everyone!

JB here, IG: @inkblissbyjb, sending you Tropical Vibes with this 5X7 card.  Featuring “Build-A-Pineapple” die collection from Papertrey Ink.

I started by die-cutting all the dies with Bristol Smooth Cardstock so I could ink blend with Distress Oxide (Inks).  All the inks used are listed in the product list below.  Once dry, I glued to build the dies.  Ink blending and gluing is so relaxing to me.  You can also use colored cardstock, but I enjoy this process.  If using color cardstock, don’t forget to shade to give dimension to your pieces, gives that extra touch!

I cut an extra 1-inch Bristol cardstock by 5” width to make my wood shelf.  You can also use a wood plank die if you have one.  I ink-blended first with Fossilized Amber here and there, then the same with Vintage Photo and went back and forth till I got the look I liked.  I then dragged across with Walnut Stain ink on its edge to make the wood grain.  

I masked off 1 inch from the bottom and ink-blended my background with Salvaged Patina Ink, darkening towards the bottom.  I glued my homemade wooden plank to the bottom.  I cut my border from Concord and 9th A7 Detailed Frames dies and glued it in place to start assembling my pineapple drinks and fruit with glue and foam squares.  I added Wink of Stella to the slushy drinks, pineapple slices, and orange slice.

For the sentiment, I die-cut the wonderful Hello from the “This is Big Sentiment Hello Die” put it back to the cut cardstock, and taped it on the back to hold and stamped in Rustic Wilderness Ink from the same stamp set.  I also stamped Sweet Friend with the same color to be a subtitle sentiment.

This is all added to 110lb white cardstock base, and my card is complete!  I hope you enjoy my card as I had so much fun making it!
