Hi Creative Friends,
Last week I shared a loosely watercolored card design using the new Penny Black stamp, How Sweet. I think the little birdies with a flower in this stamp set are so sweet I had to create another version. This one has a striking black background, then was painted with Coliro Finetec metallic paint.
I started off with a black cold-pressed watercolor panel and the stamp mounted in my stamp positioner. Then, generously added anti-static powder and stamped the image using Versamark ink.
There are three lovely sentiments with this set so while I was at it, I also stamped the sentiment with Versamark ink too, then sprinkled everything with gold embossing powder and heat set.
The painting is pretty darn simple. I only used Coliro Finetec metallic paint. I choose some rosy colors for the flower, then accented it with white and dashes of gold.
The little birdies were painted with blues and a rosy color again for their breasts. The stem, of course, was painted a bluish-green.
To finish the panel, I splattered gold paint.
I created a white cardstock card base, then mounted a dark pink Candy Heart cardstock panel on top. The black watercolor was added to complete the card!
As you can see, it is an easy card to make but I love its simplicity and lively colors. In case you missed last week’s blog entry using the same stamp, here is a link and a pic below to show you two ways you can use this stamp.
I hope you enjoyed this new version of How Sweet too. You will have to let me know which one you liked best! ♥
