Sweet Holidays by Amy Tsuruta

Hi Foiled Fox Friends! It’s Amy and I’m back with a project that features Papertrey Ink. If you’ve been following me for a bit you might know that I love all things caffeinated. I was so excited to see the Sweet Holidays set! I decided to go a different route for my card design and used the coffee mug as the background for this card.

I’ll be honest with you, I’m a big eyeballer on my designs. I don’t usually grab a ruler to measure things out. I literally eyeball things. I decided I needed a bit of help with this card so I made a quick grid with an A2 acetate panel.

The washi strip on the top helps me keep the panel in place and acts like a hinge so I can move things around. I used dots of the Lawn Fawn Jumbo Glue Tube on the backs of the mugs so I have a bit of wiggle room to get things in place.

I’m a big fan of color and contrasting colors. I adore this red and blue combo.

I wasn’t going to add the peppermint sticks but I couldn’t resist. I stamped the base in a pale pink and the stripes in coordinating red ink. The sentiment, from the Winter Greetings set, has been heat embossed in white. I used the coordinating blue ink around the edges of the card to finish things off.
