Fresh Picked Daisies

Fresh Picked Daisies

Hi Creative Friends,

Today I am sharing a delightful card design using Spellbinders’s new die set, Fresh Picked Daisies. These cheerful little flowers are easy to make and brighten any project!

I had a blast making this card and it came together so quickly! That’s a winning combination in my book!

The die set has a few different flowers and lots of greenery so I started by cutting out the foliage using a piece of Juicy Pear cardstock. Then, using an ink dauber, I blended on Rustic Wilderness distress ink for contrast.

The flowers were next. They were super easy to make. It was just a matter of cutting out a few sets of all the flower pieces from white cardstock, then blending on Scattered Straw distress ink, again using an ink dauber. The pierced centers were cut from a scrap of yellow cardstock and then warmed up with a little Ripe Persimmon distress ink. They were then backed with black cardstock.

I stacked flower pieces and attached them using foam squares. This gave them some dimension and a little whimsy!

Next, I cut out a sentiment plaque using the Mirrored Arch die set by Spellbinders and white cardstock. This is a wonderful and super versatile set – one I use often!

The sentiment was created using the new Stick & Shine Shining Wishes set by Penny Black. They are super easy to use – all you need is to center the saying, rub it on using the applicator or squeegee. From there, you remove the acetate to reveal the sticking sentiment, then lay the foil on top, and rub again.  Viola! a beautifully foiled sentiment – it couldn’t be easier!

To assemble, I applied a Robin’s Egg blue cardstock panel to the front of a matching white cardstock card base (4.25×6.25″ when folded). The leaves were arranged and lightly glued in place. Now, the fun part, the flowers were arranged and glued in place, along with the sentiment plaque.

That completed the card. I was happy with the result… I hope you enjoyed it too!
