A Goofy Ghoul and Silly Witch

A Goofy Ghoul and Silly Witch

Hi Crafty Friends,

It is feeling more like Fall and that means beautiful amber-colored falling leaves, but it also means big moon-lit skies and ghoulish friends. This card design gives way to our ghoulish friends with jack o’ lanterns, a silly witch, and of course bats. All these creatures are included in the new stamp set by Penny Black called Goofy Ghoul.

As many of you know, I love big moons and this moon can’t get big enough. It fills the card so naturally, that’s where we will start.

Using a square Neenah 110lb. card panel and a big circle cut from masking paper, I peeled off the release paper and centered the mask over the panel (but slightly high). Then, using a few distress inks I colored the sky. Starting at the bottom, I blended on Ripe Persimmon, then Wild Honey. Working my way up the panel, I added Seedless Preserves, then Chipped Sapphire at the top. A little Black soot was added to all the edges.

Once all the background was colored, the mask was removed to reveal the giant moon. The moon was then very lightly colored with Wild Honey and light strands of Chipped Sapphire.

Next, I cut out a grassy knoll using Lawn Fawn’s Grassy Hillside and a piece of Ripe Avocado cardstock. A little Black Soot was blended onto its edges. It was then glued to the bottom of the panel.

It was time to add all the ghoulish characters. On a separate piece of Neenah card stock, I stamped the witchy hedgehog and ghost. I also stamped a few extra pumpkins. They were all colored with Copic markers. The markers used were: Pumpkin: Y08, Y11, Y17, YR04, R17, YG95 – Ghost: C1, Ro1 – Hedgehog Witch: W1, W3, W5, C3, C5, C7, R20, E23, BV08, V09, and V25

The witch and ghost were then cut out, along with the awesome Halloween gate. The gate was smudged with a little Black Soot ink on the edges.

The pieces were all ready to assemble. First, the hillside was added, then the gate with a little foam tape at the center of the gate. Witchy hedgie was next, along with the ghoulish ghost.

Finally, the bats were stamped with Extreme Hybrid ink and a few splatters of white ink were added to the sky. When dry, the panel was added to a black cardstock card base and baker’s twine tied at the top.

All done, I hope you enjoyed it! 🎃
