An Alpine Winter

An Alpine Winter

Hi Crafty Friends,

I am sharing a new card using the fantastic Alpine Village die set by Concord & 9th. Seriously, I don’t know when I had so much fun making a card! There are so many ways you can create a wonderful mountain scene!

I chose the super cute ice skaters on the pond for this card design but I can’t wait to use it again! Next time, I will use the ski lift trolleys. They are so cute!

This die set includes all the pieces needed to create many different scenes. You only need heavy white card stock, Night (navy) card stock, and a variety of scraps of paper. I keep all my scraps, much to my family’s chagrin, so it was easy to grab a few colors!

Creating this card is just a matter of cutting out all the pieces and assembling them. I started with the background.

Using a Night (navy) A2 card stock base, I embossed the sky with stars (die included). Then cut all the mountains and slopes from white card stock, and doubled up the thickness of the path in front of the houses.

Next, I went on a cutting frenzy and cut out all the pieces for the houses, trees, skaters, and pond from scraps, then assembled them. The pond was stamped using the coordinating stamp set and Tidepool ink.

Now it was just a matter of arranging and putting it all together with a bit of glue, then mounted onto a white card stock card base. Little dots of sparkly Stickles were added to the sky, along with a glittery moon.

And that was all there was to it!

I haven’t had this much fun making a card in a long time! I hope you enjoyed it too and will give it a whirl!
