Catman At Halloween

Catman At Halloween

Hi Creative Friends,

I couldn’t resist sharing this adorably cute cat all dressed up for Halloween. He is from the wooden block collection from Penny Black and of course, he is Catman!

I started with a bristol paper panel and the stamp. I inked it up really well with my favorite ink for alcohol marker coloring, Memento Tuxedo Black, then stamped it on my panel. I stamped the cat again on a piece of masking paper, along with a round that I traced around a round lid, then fussy cut them out.

The cat mask was placed over the cat and the round for the moon to protect it while I worked on the background.

Now I was already for blending on the sky and ground. I first used Salty Ocean, then added Chipped Sapphire and a little Black Soot along the edges. More of the Black Soot was added to the ground beneath the cat’s cute feet.

With the sky done, I was ready to color ‘Catman’ and the moon. I peeled off the masks and then used Copic markers for the coloring. Here is a list of Copic markers I used.

Catman: Co, C2, W5, YR24, Ro1

Pumpkin: Y11, Y16, Y17, YR18, R35

Moon: Y11, Y15, Y17, YR04

With the coloring done, I added a little more definition to the ground with a black Tombow pen (check out all the goodies used in the supply list below), then set it aside while I made the background. I also snuck in a bat into the scene for good Halloween measure!

Next, I used the Hexagon Frames die set by Penny Black to cut out an opening in an A2 black card stock panel, then stamped the sentiment ‘too cute to spook’ from the Halloween sentiments by Penny Black with Versamark ink, then white heat embossed it.

I was now ready to assemble. First, I added a foam backing, then centered it over ‘Catman’, then made a slightly larger Candy Corn card base. The ‘Catman’ panel was mounted over the top of the card base to complete the card.

And that is all there is to it. The card is done and I have another cutie pootie Halloween card to mail! YAY!

I hope you like this Halloween treat and that it inspires you a little to create your own!
