Colorful Autumn Leaves

Colorful Autumn Leaves

Hi Creative Friends,

We are sharing two projects by our very good friend, Dana Kirby and they are simply gorgeous! She used the Spellbinders BetterPress system and their Autumn Leaves press plates to create these letterpress beauties.

Read below how she did it, then try your own letterpress project. To get your creative juices flowing, all this week we will have projects using the new BetterPress system. If you haven’t tried it yet, now is the perfect time as we have lots of BetterPress products in our shop and the best part is that you can still save 15% today on everything in our shop (sale ends tonight at midnight-coupon code 15FALL23). Check out all the details below.

Now on to Dana!

Hi friends! It’s Dana here today with a fall project that uses the gorgeous Autumn Leaves Press Plate and Die Set from Spellbinders.

I started my card by making my leaves. I began my smooshing Distress Oxide Ink (Cracking Campfire, Fired Brick, Ripe Persimmon, Peeled Paint, and Forest Moss) onto a glass mat. Then I spritzed the ink with water and laid my Bisque cotton card panel onto the ink covering the panel. Once the panel was dry I used the Spellbinders BetterPress Letterpress System along with the Autumn Leaves press plate and die set and Bark ink to create my leaves.

Next, I added a few metallic watercolor splatters to my leaves for a little added detail. I then used the Autumn Leaves dies (included in the set) to cut out the leaves.

For my sentiment, I used the Autumn Hues stamp set. I stamped the sentiments onto a piece of vellum paper with VersaMark ink. I then heat-set the sentiment with gold embossing powder. Lastly, I used the Autumn Hues die set to cut out the sentiment onto the banner die. I mounted my leaves onto a piece of black cardstock cut down to 3″ by 5.5″. I then attached a piece of pattern paper (2″ by 6″) from the Petite Gingham paper pack to the edge of my mini slimline card base before attaching my black card panel to finish my card.

I also used the leaves to create a treat bag topper. I think the leaves are so pretty and will be perfect on my Thanksgiving table. I always love to include a little treat box or bag on each place setting and I think these leaves are the perfect accent.

Thanks for joining me today. I hope you have a wonderful day and I will be back soon to share another project with you all.

Enjoy your day,

Dana
