Hi Creative Friends,
We are getting into the Fall and Winter season so what better time to share a video demonstrating a winter scene with cute wintery birds? I created three different cards where I used the same techniques and all were made using Penny Black stamps.
Check out the video below. It shows you all the ins and outs of making serene winter branches with adorable little birds.
Now that you have checked out the video, here are a few close-ups so you can get up close and personal.
The pic below is the one demonstrated in the video. I used Into The Sky, Cardinal Pair, and When Snow Falls stamp sets by Penny Black. The sky was created with Faded Jeans, Chipped Sapphire, Peeled Paint, and a touch of Black Soot distress inks. The cardinal was colored with Lumberjack Plaid, Ripe Persimmon, and Wild Honey distress inks.
The next card was created exactly the same as above except the branches were stamped on the right side with a duo of adorable, plumb birds from the Wreath & Wings stamp set on the branch.
The last card was created with the Winter Branches, Restful, Cardinal Pair, and Jolly Snippets stamp sets by Penny Black. Before I began stamping, I masked off the edges using the Delicate Surface painters tape by 3m Scotch. Check out the supply list for more info.
The sky was painted using a little more Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot distress ink for a more dramatic look, but the same techniques were used as before.
The sentiment was from the Jolly Snippets stamp set by Penny Black.
I loved making these cards. It proved to be quite relaxing and meditative! Give it a whirl, you’ll see what I mean! ♥
