Creating a Birthday Celebration Card with Alcohol Inks and Foiling

Creating a Birthday Celebration Card with Alcohol Inks and Foiling

Hi Everyone,

We have a fun card for all the Martini or Cosmopolitan lovers! We created an alcohol ink background with gold foiling and used the My Favorite Things Celebrate Speech Bubble die and Martini Window and Shaker die.

Watch the video for step-by-step instructions!

This card was a lot of fun to make! It has a little bit of everything in it – some alcohol ink painting, gold foiling and a shaker card. Check out the video to see all the ins and outs.

Here are a few close-ups to show the detail. The colors used for the alcohol inks were Flamingo (Beach Deco collection), Sunshine Yellow and Sunset Orange (Summit View collection) and Shell Pink (Countryside collection), plus Pearl mixative.

If you like the foiling on alcohol inks technique, Heather Telford has made some stunning cards. You can check them out here and here.

The Heidi Swapp Minc applicator tool really does the trick for foiling. The gold foil takes the background to a whole new level.

The Martini Window and Frame die by My Favorite Things, combined with the Martini shaker pouch makes it super easy to create a shaker card. Then, you add the adorable ‘ice cubes’ and Queen & Co Pops to  the shaker and you have got the cutest card for an adult.

To finish the card, the bright gold cardstock is textured and a few sequins and gold metallic dots are added – now Viola!

Thanks for joining us today. Hope to see you again very soon!

  1. What a delightful card! You used so many different techniques it was truly an education. I will watch it several times and be sure to put this video in ‘MY favorites’ collection. AWESOME!
