Hi Crafty Friends,
Today I am sharing an elegant floral stamp called Harmonious Hibiscus by My Favorite Things. It has large meandering hibiscus that can be used in so many ways.
I love me some flowers! So this stamp is perfect. To accent them, I chose to use heat embossing and watercolors.
I began with a small panel of hot-pressed watercolor paper, stamped what I thought was the most pleasing section with Versamark ink and heat embossed it with rose gold embossing powder.
With the flower panel ready to color, I broke out my Peerless watercolors. I haven’t used these watercolors in so long. I don’t know why! They offer such beautiful, vibrant colors and are a real pleasure to use. All the colors I used are included in the 15 color set … but of course, you can use any watercolors you have on hand.
While I was waiting for the colors to dry, I created another panel by white heat embossing the Hibiscus pattern again, this time on Neenah white card stock. Once the embossing was done, I very lightly blended on Berry Sorbet in the flower areas.
It was time to assemble. I started with a white cardstock card base, then adhered to the lightly colored, embossed panel. Next, I added a piece of Berry Sorbet card stock to the back of the watercolored rectangle, then adhered a bit of foam to the back to pop it up.
I wanted to keep this card simple, but elegant and for all occasions, so I left the card without a sentiment. I can always add one later on if needed! ♥
