Hi there,
We are sharing a few clean and simple card designs made by our friend and the super talented Heather Telford. She has used a couple of Simply graphic dies, Coriander and Thyme and Rosemary to create these stunning cards. Take a look!
Hi Creative Friends,
I’ve created some clean and simple thank you cards working with a neutral background and bold highlights. I say herb themed because the dies I used are from Simply Graphic, coriander, rosemary, and thyme.
It is unusual for me to pair cream or beige with white but if you spend any time looking at current home decor trends you would know neutrals are currently ‘the thing’ so I decided to give them a try. My card bases are Neenah solar white and the background panels are cut from Bazzill ‘butter mints’.
Rather than add a ribbon or extra strip of cardstock I added instead a ‘ribbon’ of ink to each background panel. For both cards I masked a strip towards the bottom of the panel with post it tape. On the portrait oriented card I blended Papertrey fine linen ink into the space, splattered a little water on it then dabbed it away to make watermarks. On the landscape oriented card I masked in the same way then stamped a text stamp in fine linen ink.
I added 2-sided adhesive to four colors of Bazzill cardstock, blueberry sour, mint julep, chocolate malt and mulberry, then die-cut the herbs. I had more than I needed so I could play around with combinations and layouts.
I finished the cards with a Simply Graphic ‘thank you’ stamp and a bit of twine.
Do you like using neutrals in your cardmaking or do you go for the bolder brighter choices? Let me know in the comments.
