Have A Ravishing Ranunculus Kind Of Birthday

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today we are taking another look at the Ravishing Ranunculus stamp set by Papertrey Ink, an Ink To Paper Collection. It is loaded with beautiful flower blossoms and leaves. You have seen us use them lots of ways, but today is a little different. Below is a video we made for Papertrey, it will take you through each step.

Here is the video for your viewing and enjoyment.

This was a fun card to make. We love combining colors and creating a watercolor-y look. To do that, we are using hot-pressed watercolor paper and a few Papertrey Ink inks. You can see all of them in the supply list below.

The flowers were stamped in a loose oval, then masks were made to cover them while the leaves were stamped by using the leaves in the Floral Delicacies stamp set. The groups of leaves in this set are perfect for creating a spray of leaves. You can see in the supply list that we used: Spring Moss, Green Parakeet, New Leaf, Ripe Avocado, and Pinefeather ink cubes to get the task done.

After all the flowers and leaves were stamped, it was time for the bird. We love the new bird stamps by Papertrey Ink-Ink To Paper. They are so beautiful and make a fine addition to our projects. The colors used were: Spring Moss, Green Parakeet, New Leaf, Ripe Avocado, Pinefeather, Bright Buttercup, Summer Sunrise, Cocoa Bean, and Weathervane.

It was time to assemble. To do that,  the watercolored panel was adhered to a slightly larger Berry Sorbet card base. Then a gold metallic pearl cotton strand was wrapped around the panel and taped in the back.  A tag was made by cutting out the tag included in the Sweet Celebration die set, using Neenah 110lb. cardstock. “Happy Birthday” from the Sweet Celebration sentiment set was then stamped with True Black ink. To finish, the bird and the tag were attached with foam tape to the gold cord and card front.

Viola! a lovely birthday card is done!
