Have A Sweet and Happy Day by Lisa Tilson

Hi there,

Oh my gosh, do we have a treat for you today! Lisa Tilson from the My Card Trip blog has created the sweetest card design and matching tag using the Ink To Paper Simply Sweet: Hello stamp and die sets. They are so AWESOME, we can’t wait to show you.

Hi there, it’s Lisa here and as always, I am delighted to be back on the Foiled Fox blog again with you. Today I have a bright and contemporary card for you along with a matching tag.  These projects were both created with one of the recently released (and let me tell you, completely GORGEOUS) sets from Ink To Paper, called Simply Sweet Hello. So, let’s head straight into the projects.

I kicked off with my stamping and what could be easier than taking three dye inks in your favourite Summer colours and stamping the larger flower block onto Neenah.  I die cut the 6 blocks with the coordinating dies, added some foam tape to the back and popped them onto a white rectangle panel. My plan for the card was to keep it bold, bright and definitely CAS. But rather than just adhere the panel of six flowers directly onto a card base, I felt like I wanted to add a pop of colour behind.

At first, I grabbed my patterned papers, but nothing really jumped out at me as suitable – I didn’t want a bunch of conflicting colours or even a bold pattern confusing the design so I created my own panel. I had a rummage around my stash, as you do, and found the lovely MFT Floral Fantasy background stamp that I thought would add some pretty detail without overpowering the panel on top.  I white heat embossed the stamp onto Neenah and then applied Twisted Citron Distress ink on top, cut it to size and adhered it so that it was offset behind the panel. Twisted Citron is such a stunning colour and although not the same as the green dye ink I used for the flower, provides a lovely bright contrast.

I took a base card, added a few strips of MFT Black & White Stripes paper to the edges and then popped my image panel on top. The sentiment is also from Sweet Hello and that has some foam tape behind.

It was at this point that I thought a matching tag might be nice too – and why not, it’s always lovely to have a matching card and tag! So out came my Tag You’re It set from Lawn Fawn which had not seen the light of day for a while (you know what I am talking about here!).  I die cut the tag from Neenah and then again from the leftover green background panel I had created earlier for the card. I trimmed the top of the green tag and adhered it onto the white tag for a pop of coordinating colour, stamped four of the smaller floral blocks and adhered them with foam tape.

The sentiments are once again from the same Sweet Hello set.  All I needed to do now was tie a bow – not my forte! This did take some time, I’m all fingers and thumbs when I do bows and forget that reverse tweezers are really your friend for this exasperating but elegant finishing touch!

So, that brings me to the end of my projects. There are so many options with this stamp set as it includes some blocks which stamp the word HELLO and I didn’t get to use those this time around. There will always be a next time! Thanks for joining me today and keep crafting!
