Holiday Spirit

Holiday Spirit

Hi Crafty Friends,

We are sharing more of the wonderful stamp and die sets from the new release by Papertrey Ink – Ink to Paper. We also have a video to demonstrate how you can create a holiday card in a jif, not mention, it would be great for a mass-produced card too.

It features Holiday Spirit, a great holiday background stamp, Ornament Greetings, and Corner It: Holly.

Be sure to check out the video below:

Hopefully, you had a chance to watch the video! The video explains all the steps and shows you two ways you can use elements you might have around your craft room.  (If you are like me, I have bits and pieces stored away in a drawer, here to be used.

In the video, we started with the blue version by beginning with an Aqua Mist card stock card panel and white heat embossing it using the Holiday Spirit background stamp. The panel was then popped up with a foam backing, wrapped red May Arts twine, and then mounted onto a white card base.

From there, I cut out and stamped the decorative frame found in the Ornament Greetings stamp and die set. The frame was red heat embossed. Check out the handy technique in the video!

Once the frame was done, I added it to the card front with some foam tape, then tucked in a few Starflakes that I had previously cut out of white card stock and coated with glitter (hint: smear a thin layer of glue on top and sprinkle with glitter). A few pine sprigs that were cut from Pinefeather card stock were added, along with a cluster of berries. And believe it or not, we are done!

I also had white heat embossed a Vintage Cream panel using the Holiday Spirit stamp and followed all the same steps as the aqua card. I changed it up a bit by using a Pure Poppy Bitty Big plaid card panel mounted on a white card base. Then, added the Vintage Cream panel. I also used a thin red satin ribbon and a different decorative frame and sentiment from the Ornament Greetings stamp and die set and heat embossed it with gold embossing powder.

I used a few more pine sprigs (you can use whatever pine sprig die you might have around but I used the Modern Gift Tag die set) cut from Pinefeather card stock and stamped a few holly leaves from the adorable Corner It: Holly stamp and die set. They were stamped with New Leaf and Pinefeather. The berries were stamped with Pure Poppy.

Now it was just a matter of arranging and gluing down the foliage and adding the frame with a little foam tape.

And there we have it… two holiday cards ready to send! 🎄
