Loads of Christmas Joy

Loads of Christmas Joy

Hi Crafty Friends,

We are sharing a super cute card design by our good friend, Rosali of I Love Stamping blog (IG: @ilovestamping). This design features the Loads Of Joy stamp and die set by My Favorite Things. This set is stuffed full of adorable stamps and Rosali has created a colorful CAS (Clean and Simple) card that is sure to please anyone on your holiday list!

To start, Rosali stamped the gift-laden truck onto Neenah white card stock with waterproof ink, like Versafine Black Onyx. She then used one of her favs, the Winsor & Newton watercolor markers to color these cutie-pootie characters and truck.  When done, she cut it out using the matching die set. She also cut out a few more of this shape from Neenah 110lb. white card stock and stacked and glued them together to give dimension to the image without using foam tape. This way it would be assured to be stout enough to withstand mailing.

With the penguin truck done, it was set aside so Rosali could start on the front. Using a Neenah white card stock card base and a blending brush, she lightly blended on an angle, Lawn Fawn’s Merman ink, then switched to Lawn Fawn Peacock ink for the bottom part of the section, giving it an ombre effect.

Then, with the card base mounted in a stamp positioner like a MISTI, she stamped the two sentiments with the same inks. So, that meant she started with Merman (so it is tone-on-tone) and then switched to Peacock once the background color changed to the Peacock color. To finish the card base, the corner was rounded with a corner-rounder Chomper.

Now that the card base was done, the adorable penguin-driven truck was mounted and a few clear droplets were added to complete this design.

And there you have it, another wonderful creation by Rosali!!
